Indianapolis-based education nonprofit The Mind Trust is looking for a new senior vice president. Senior VP of Strategy and Community Engagement Kameelah Shaheed-Diallo is stepping down from the role. She joined the organization in 2013 and was a big part of the growth of Innovation Network Schools in the city.

The Mind Trust Senior Director of Community Engagement Marquisha Bridgeman will serve in the roll on an interim basis while the organization searches for a replacement.

Chief Executive Officer Brandon Brown says it is "hard to fully describe the impact Kameelah has made during her five years at The Mind Trust."

Shaheed-Diallo helped lead the development of the partnership among the city of Indianapolis and Indianapolis Public Schools to support Innovation Network Schools. In 2015, The Mind Trust landed a $125,000 grant from the Glick Fund to support the program. The organization says the schools operate under contract with IPS and are exempt from many administrative practices and state regulations, giving them more autonomy and flexibility.

In her time with The Mind Trust, Shaheed-Diallo also led the formation of the Lewis Hubbard Group, which brings civic leaders together to address education policy issues. She also launched The Mind Trust’s Education Bus Tours, which give community members the chance to visit high-performing public schools and education programs.
