Governor Eric Holcomb Tuesday announced the 2018 Governor’s STEM Team awards. The selected students, one from each of the STEM subject areas, each earned a $1,000 college scholarship for earning the designation.

The science winner is Terre Haute South Vigo High School senior John Dalloul. He has participated in Indiana Academic Superbowl, Science Bowl and Science Olympiad and is a National Honor Society vice president. He hopes to attend Stanford University or Princeton University to study medicine.

The technology winner is Brown County High School senior Abraham Oliver. He is his class valedictorian, a National Honor Society member and the science captain on the Brown County Academic Team. He plans to attend Stanford University in the fall to study computer science and math.

The engineering winner is Megan Singer, a Carmel High School senior. She is a member of the Carmel TechHOUNDS Robotics Team, Women in Technology and National Honor Society. She has designed and produced her own custom LED prom dresses. Singer plans to attend Purdue University to study engineering.

The math winner is Jennings County High School senior Trevor Vogel. He is a member of the JCHS Career Association, Jobs for America’s Graduates and National Honor Society. He plans to attend Indiana State University to study mathematics, and hopes to work as a professor at an Indiana college or university.
