More Illnesses Reported From Rose Acre Farms Recall
More salmonella illnesses are being reported following a voluntary recall of more than 200 million eggs from Rose Acre Farms in Seymour. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says an additional 12 people have been infected in the case, bringing the total to 35 across nine states.
Rose Acre Farms issued the recall April 16 after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said the eggs had the potential to be contaminated with salmonella. The eggs came from Rose Acre’s Hyde County Farm in North Carolina.
The eggs were sold under multiple brand names, including Coburn Farms, Country Daybreak, Food Lion, Glenview, Great Value, Nelms, Publix, Sunshine Farms, and Sunups. The FDA says the eggs have reached consumers in Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
The CDC says 11 people have been hospitalized due to the outbreak, but no deaths have been reported. You can learn more about the situation by clicking here.
