Special Session Gets Underway at Statehouse
Hoosier lawmakers will return to the Statehouse Monday for a special session. The House and Senate will work on what Governor Eric Holcomb calls "critical issues" that were not completed during the 10-week 2018 legislative session that ended in March. Holcomb, House Speaker Brian Bosma (R-88) and Senate President Pro Tem David Long (R-16) all say the special session can be complete in one day.
The House and Senate released legislation, motions, bill comparison documents and fiscal notes at the end of April on all measures that will go before legislators. You can connect to the full list of bills that will first be heard in the House by clicking here. The proposed legislation includes House Bill 1230, House Bill 1315, House Bill 1316, Senate Bill 242 and House Bill 1457. During Monday’s proceedings, all bills will begin in the House and keep or be renamed with a "House Bill" designation. Connect to live streams of the special session by clicking here.
