Manufacturer Touts New Columbus Facility
Lindal North America Inc. is showcasing its new $20 million Columbus facility. The company, a subsidiary of Germany-based Lindal Group, manufactures aerosol packaging components for what officials call "international power brands" in the cosmetics, household products and pharmaceutical sectors. The facility broke ground one year ago and is expected to grow the company’s 65-employee Columbus presence by 30.
Lindal Group Chief Executive Officer Francois-Xavier Gilbert says "thanks to the hard work, dedication and skills of our Lindal North America team led by Gonzalo Frejenal, LNA Plant Manager, and Jerry Miller, LNA Technical Manager, just within a year we have created 15-acre Columbus campus which brings the best in class technical know-how and innovation capabilities. We anticipated the need for integrated and centrally-located resources for our wide range of U.S. customers, as demand here continues to grow."
The company first came to Bartholomew County 10 years ago. The new, 100,000 square-foot facility is expandable and includes production, office, laboratory and warehousing space. Officials say the investment will streamline its supply chain and continue to tap into the "diverse manufacturing base" found in Columbus.
Thursday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony included local officials and company leadership from the headquarters in Germany.
