The chief executive officer of Valparaiso-based Task Force Tips is offering a $300,000 challenge grant in support of Purdue Northwest. PNW alumnus Stewart McMillan believes a new student engineering design studio will help expand entrepreneurial opportunity in the region.

PNW’s School of Engineering Director Dietmar Rempfer says the opportunity to offer the dollar-for-dollar matching grant is exciting. “With the McMillans’ generous support, we have the chance to raise $600,000 in one day,” said Rempfer. “That jumpstarts the fundraising for this important project for Purdue Northwest and the entire region.” McMillan says the studio will lead to a brighter future. “Creativity is a nebulous thing. It comes from multiple people coming together in the same room to spark big ideas,” he said.

Rempfer says the center will offer undergraduate students cutting edge tools and space to create and collaborate. Details on the student engineering design studio can be found here.  For more information on the Day of Giving, click here
