Wakefield Named IndyBar Paralegal of The Year

Melissa Wakefield has been named the Indianapolis Bar Association's Paralegal of the Year for 2018. She is an Indiana registered paralegal and has worked at Bose McKinney & Evans since 1993, serving in the firm's bankruptcy and creditors’ rights group since 1997. Wakefield is responsible for drafting numerous documents, which include complaints, discovery requests, motions for default and summary judgment. She also orders and reviews title commitments as well as maintains extensive contact with clients, court personnel, title companies and sheriffs.

Wakefield is an active member of the IndyBar Paralegal Committee, which develops and plans events, programs and resources that advance all paralegals in the Indianapolis area. She served as committee secretary, chair-elect and as its chair in 2009. She also maintains involvement with the Indiana State Bar Association Affiliate Committee and the Indiana Paralegal Association.

      Medical Society Auctioning Off 'History'

      The Indianapolis Medical Society is this week auctioning off what it calls pieces of Indiana history as it prepares to move to smaller offices. The more than 150-year-old organization says items range from a clock made with wood dating back thousands of years to artifacts and historic documents.
