New CEO to Lead Madison County Community Health Center

Madison County Community Health Center has named Sharon Foote chief executive officer. She relocated to Fort Wayne in 2015 from St. Louis, where she gained 47 years of experience in health care delivery, including a position as chief operating officer at a federally-qualified health center.

Foote has served on many health care advocacy boards and committees, including the St. Louis Integrated Health Network, Missouri Primary Care Association and St. Louis Maternal and Child Health Coalition.

“Sharon will be an excellent CEO who has the ability to lead by example,” says Board member Kyle Noone. “Her vast knowledge of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s) will help propel the MCCHC to a premium level of quality care and patient service for years to come.”

Foote earned a masters in Health Care Administration/Education from the University of Phoenix and went on to become a graduate of the Community Health Center Executive Fellow Program sponsored by the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

The health and wellness of Indiana’s economy is dependent on the state’s manufacturing industry.       U.S. Steel Updates Layoff Notice to State

      Pittsburgh-based U.S. Steel Corp. (NYSE: X) has updated the State of Indiana regarding its previously announced layoffs at the East Chicago Tin Mill. The company says 314, rather than 307, workers will be displaced when the mill is idled this fall.

      Kitchenware Maker to Close in Terre Haute

      Illinois-based Columbian Home Products LLC has sent a letter to the State of Indiana saying it intends to close its plant in Terre Haute and lay off 82 workers. According to the WARN letter sent to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, the layoffs will begin on December 1.

      Indy Reads Books has hired Chrissy Vasquez (pictured) as chief development officer to oversee marketing, development and the store. Also, Adam Ramsey (pictured) has been named manager of engagement, specializing in story telling through video and social media.       Radial to Hire 1,800 Seasonal Workers in Brownsburg

      Pennsylvania-based Radial Inc. has announced plans to grow its seasonal workforce in Brownsburg. The company, which opened its 700,000-square-foot fulfillment center in the Hendricks County city in June, says it will add 1,800 workers ahead of the holiday season. Radial is an e-commerce technology and operations company and says a dramatic increase in online spending will lead to higher demand for workers at the new facility this year. The jobs will mainly be...
