IDEA Week Kicks Off in Michiana

Subscribe NowA week-long festival focusing on all things innovation in the northern part of the state is underway. IDEA Week, a festival led by the IDEA Center at the University of Notre Dame, will feature business, technology and entertainment events throughout Greater South Bend-Elkhart. The initiative is targeted at entrepreneurs, students and community members to provide "practical knowledge, creative inspiration and social foundation they need to innovate within their own careers, studies, and communities."
Key events include a Maker Faire, open houses at high-profile innovation centers like Studebaker 113, panel discussions, the Northern Indiana Tech Expo and speeches by well-known innovators like "Mythbusters" co-host Adam Savage, Zappos Chief Executive Officer Tony Hsieh and "Sharktank" cast member and FUBU CEO Daymond John. Notre Dame’s McCloskey New Venture Competition Finals event will take place next Friday as part of IDEA Week and TEDx UND will be held Saturday on the South Bend campus. A concert from famed pianist Itzhak Perlman will conclude the festivities next Sunday.
