Fort Wayne-based Sweetwater has hired longtime WANE-TV news anchor and community ambassador Heather Herron as vice president of corporate communications, effective May 29. She will succeed Christopher Guerin, who is retiring. Herron’s new role will include local and national public relations, corporate public involvement through the company’s donations program, community engagement and other duties.

She has served as the WANE anchor since 2001. A native Hoosier, Herron grew up in the small town of Gaston and received her telecommunications degree from Ball State University.
