Job Fair Set For Michigan City

MICHIGAN CITY -

Officials in northwest Indiana will Wednesday host the third annual Michigan City Community Job Fair. More than 50 employers will be on hand to meet with job seekers about available positions.

The event will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City. The event is free and open to the public. The employers attending the job fair represent a variety of industries such as healthcare, professional services, hospitality, manufacturing, logistics, and transportation.

Job seekers planning on attending the job fair are encouraged to dress in business attire, bring multiple copies of their resume and be ready for on-site interviews.

The job fair is the result of a partnership among the city of Michigan City, Economic Development Corp. Michigan City, Michigan City Chamber of Commerce, Blue Chip Casino and the Northwest Indiana Workforce Board and WorkOne offices.

      Greenwood Amazon Building Gets New Owner

      New Jersey-based Monmouth Real Estate Investment Corp. (NYSE: MNR) is acquiring a property in Greenwood.  The company says it is purchasing the nearly 616,000-square-foot industrial building for $81.5 million and will lease the space in a 15-year agreement to Amazon.com Services Inc.
