A unique technology group is bringing its drive to innovate to Purdue@WestGate. Special Actions Technology Group is a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business comprised of retired special operations personnel, engineers, scientists and defense acquisition experts.

Founder and SATG Chief Executive Officer Michael Cooper established the company in 2009 to help map the gaps between the technical strengths and the technical requirements of special operations forces. “National security requires agile and rapid development of advanced technologies to defeat emerging threats both overseas and within our borders,” Cooper said. “To counter these dangers, we will work directly with Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane and WestGate will provide us the necessary environment to fill this critical need.”

The Institute’s Managing Director Mike Dodd says SATG will be a key asset at Purdue@WestGate "in order to bridge the gap between leading-edge technology and Department of Defense needs. Combined with our cross-cutting research capabilities and Purdue’s core competences in STEM, SATG brings a wealth of knowledge that will put the latest tech in the hands of our warfighters.”

SATG is the newest member of the Lock & Key, the co-working space at WestGate Academy in Odon. SATG also has a second location in Ft. Myers, Florida.
