Women’s Fund of Central Indiana has announced Brenda Horn (pictured), retired partner of Ice Miller LLP, will serve as its advisory board chair. Melissa Proffitt, managing partner at Ice Miller LLP, is stepping down after two years as chair. Jennifer Dzwonar (pictured), managing principal at Borshoff, is the advisory board’s new vice chair.

Horn and Dzwonar helped Women’s Fund welcome seven new advisory board members, many of whom participated in the organization’s yearlong philanthropic education program, OPTIONS.

New members include:

• Brooke Dunn—associate, Faegre Baker Daniels; OPTIONS Class 12

• Jill Lacy—president, The Lacy Foundation; OPTIONS Class 9

• Nicole Lorch—executive vice president and chief operating officer, First Internet Bank; OPTIONS Class 15

• Nancy Martin—director and senior vice president, BMO Harris Bank

• Jennifer Morris—community volunteer; OPTIONS Class 10

• Charles Williams— senior director, Global Employee Health Services – Eli Lilly and Co.

• Kristen Martin Sobczak— deputy prosecuting attorney, Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, and OPTIONS Class 17; serves as an ex officio board member representing OPTIONS

The advisory board and Women’s Fund recently hosted the sold-out “A Moderated Conversation With Former First Lady Michelle Obama,” on Feb. 13, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse and are planning an annual Power of Women’s Fund Philanthropy event on Oct. 3, 2018, at The Indiana Roof Ballroom. The annual celebration will feature keynote speaker Liz Murray, the New York Times best-selling author of “Breaking Night: A Memoir of Forgiveness, Survival, and My Journey from Homeless to Harvard,” about how she overcame poverty, homelessness and parental addiction to become a Harvard graduate. Tickets will go on sale in April.
