Chuck Baldwin, managing director for Ogletree Deakins, has received The International Law Office’s 2018 Client Choice Award. He works in the firm’s Indianapolis office and is the exclusive winner of the Employment & Benefits category for Indiana.

Before becoming a managing director, Baldwin held numerous leadership roles with Ogletree Deakins since joining the firm in 2000. He has served on Ogletree Deakins’ board of directors since 2011 and was previously managing shareholder of the firm’s Indianapolis office. Baldwin devotes his practice to representing employers in complex EEO litigation; labor arbitrations and non-competition/trade secret disputes.

Baldwin serves as chairman of the board of directors for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and was previously selected as an Indiana Chamber “Volunteer of the Year.” He is a Charter Member of the American Employment Law Council, as well as a member of the Eiteljorg Museum’s Advisory Council and the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers’ 7th Circuit Credentials Committee. Baldwin has also been recognized for leadership in legal innovation and legal project management by a number of prestigious publications and organizations, including the College of Law Practice Management, Association of Corporate Counsel, American Corporate Counsel Association, and the International Legal Technology Association.

He was singled out among his peers for his professional accomplishments, including being elected as a Fellow in the prestigious College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and being listed as one of the top labor and employment lawyers in Indiana by Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers magazine. Baldwin holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been named to the BTI Client Service All-Stars list.

He is an experienced writer and has authored a number of publications on labor and employment law. Baldwin has served for many years as the Seventh Circuit Editor for the “Employment & Labor Relations Litigation Newsletter” of the ABA, was a contributing author for the first and second edition of “Model Jury Instructions: Employment Litigation,” published by the Litigation Section of the ABA, and co-authored Indiana Chamber publications including “Indiana Guide to Preventing Workplace Harassment,” “Interviewing Guide: Designed to Assist Indiana Employers with Hiring and Retaining Employees,” and “Managing Employees Leaves of Absence.
