Ivy Tech Community College has named Travis Haire chancellor of its Sellersburg campus. He most recently served as deputy superintendent for Greater Clark County Schools with a focus on college and career readiness skills and the improvement of student achievement. Haire’s other responsibilities included day-to-day operations of the district and supervision of all aspects of facilities and ensuring building and grounds were properly maintained.

His career started at the Greater Clark County Schools as a high school social studies teacher and adult education instructor. Haire has held positions with Jeffersonville High School and River Valley Middle School in a variety of teaching positions. In 1998, he was named the assistant principal for student development at New Albany High School, launching his career into educational leadership and administration roles. In the last 12 years, Haire has held leadership positions with the Greater Clark County Schools including interim superintendent and assistant superintendent for leadership, prior to his current role.

He earned his Doctor of Education with a Ph.D. and Ed.S in Educational Leadership from Indiana State University. Haire earned his Masters of Arts in Education from Indiana University Southeast and his Bachelors of Arts in History from Hanover College.

Terry Nolot, who was serving as interim chancellor during the search process, will continue in his role as vice chancellor of enrollment services for the Sellersburg campus.
