Lutheran Health Network has announced Karen Fordham will become the new chief executive officer of St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne. Fordham, who most recently served as president and CEO of Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital near Detroit, will begin her new role January 22.

Fordham became CEO of Huron Valley-Sinai in 2015 after serving as vice president and chief operating officer at the hospital. She also previously served as president and CEO of Detroit Surgery Hospital.

"Karen’s background and tireless pursuit of positive change made her the right person at the right time to lead St. Joseph Hospital into the future," said Mike Poore, regional president and CEO of Lutheran Health Network. "Her ability to turn vision into action, which includes successfully managing more than $100 million in construction projects during her healthcare career, is just a small sample of what excites our board at St. Joe and me."

Fordham is the latest in a string of CEO appointments for Lutheran Health Network over the past year. In January 2017, Brent Parsons became CEO of Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Paula Autry became CEO of Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne in October, followed by Lorenzo Suter, who in November was tapped to lead Dupont Hospital in Fort Wayne.
