Toyota Gift to Support UE Logistics Program
The University of Evansville has announced plans for a new program, thanks to a gift from Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana Inc. in Princeton. The university says the majority of the $100,000 gift will support the new Logistics and Supply Chain Management Program, set to debut this fall.
The program will make UE the first private university in Indiana accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International to offer an undergraduate major in logistics and supply chain management. It will be managed by the university’s Schroeder Family School of Business Administration.
UE says $90,000 of the gift from Toyota will be dedicated to the program. A portion of that will fund 10 one-year, $5,000 scholarships that will be awarded to each of the 10 students that will take part in the first cohort of the program.
"We are proud to partner with the University of Evansville on this milestone," said Tim Hollander, vice president of TMMI. "This program will help to fill a need for trained and qualified candidates for many employers in our region and create opportunities for students to build careers with longevity."
The remaining $10,000 from Toyota’s gift will provide continued support of UE’s annual Changemaker Challenge competitions for area high school students and UE students.
