Report: Lippert Targets New Allen County Site
Elkhart-based Lippert Components Manufacturing Inc. is scaling back a planned investment in northeast Indiana. The Journal Gazette reports the recreational and marine vehicle industry manufacturer has selected a new site and is now looking to pump nearly $11 million into improvements and equipment at a former Nestle plant in southern Allen County.
The company’s previous plans involved a more than $19 million investment into an industrial facility in New Haven on the eastern side of the county. Lippert components is slated to go before the Allen County Council Thursday to seek tax abatement on the proposal.
The old Nestle facility, which, at more than 764,000 square-feet, is around twice as large as the previously-targeted property. The publication reports the company plans to employ 135 production and sewing machine operation jobs at the new-proposed property.
