Our partners at WTHR-TV in Indianapolis report dogs used by investigators detected accelerant at multiple locations on the property.
Fires were found and fought in the main building and a nearby pole barn. Marion Fire Department Deputy Chief Tony Fox told WTHR that as of Saturday night, four of six firefighter injured in the blaze were released and ready to go back to work Monday.
The plant was closed in 2004 by its owner Thomson, which acquired it after its earlier merger with RCA. In 2005, a larger fire took out major portions of the property. WTHR reports the State Fire Marshal’s office and fire investigators from Marion are continuing to investigate.
