Linda Woloshansky has been selected to serve as treasurer of the Midwest Urban Strategies Consortium. She is president and chief executive officer of the Center of Workforce Innovations. Midwest Urban Strategies Consortium is made up of 13 workforce boards serving urban areas in the midwest. The Northwest Indiana Workforce board is part of the consortium.

The Consortium will lead the charge in creating a supply and demand model with a regional approach and talent development strategies such as registered apprenticeship, a major area of focus for the current administration and implementation of the Department of Labor America’s Promise grant. Participation in the Midwest Consortium provides an opportunity to learn from other initiatives which would benefit job seekers in our urban communities such as Gary, Hammond, East Chicago and Michigan City.

The U.S. Department of Labor will provide technical assistance and guidance on national and regional workforce priorities, two foundations are also providing support to the consortium and there has been interest around the country about the unique relationship and organization of the initiation.
