Purdue Details Online Master of Public Health Degree
An online Master of Public Health program will launch in May at Purdue University. The College of Health and Human Sciences says the degree is an expansion of the two-year-old Public Health Graduate program in West Lafayette.
Graduates of the online program, the school says, often pursue public, private and nonprofit careers including epidemiologist, health promotion specialist, clinical research coordinator and community wellness coordinator.
Public Health Graduate Program Director Richard Mattes says "the online MPH program complements our campus-based option by providing an opportunity for those who prefer to pursue a quality, science-based degree in public health through a venue that allows maximal time flexibility." He adds full and part-time students would benefit from the degree. "The coursework covers the core public health areas, specialty concentration courses and experiential learning activities. Students will gain basic knowledge to contribute to population health locally, nationally and globally."
The two-year program includes 14 courses totaling 42 credit hours and a 400-hour practicum experience. You can connect to more about the new online masters by clicking here.
