Recycling, Metals Company Grows Lafayette Footprint

LAFAYETTE -

Lafayette-based Oscar Winski Co. has acquired the former Caterpillar Lafayette Logistics Center. Financial details were not immediately disclosed, however the company says the new facility will more than double its logistics and e-recycling capacities.

OWC has already begun transitioning its e-recycling and logistics divisions into the 160,000-square-foot building. The company says approximately half the space will be filled immediately while the remaining space will be used for future expansion.

"The number one advantage of this move is that it allows us greater potential to serve important clients like GE Aviation and Wabash National while affording the room to take on new customers as well," says Alex Bluestein, vice president of OWLogistics. “With this new space, we’ve got room to keep growing these newer OWC business segments and we’re excited to pursue larger opportunities in the near future.”

OWC says its e-recycling and logistics divisions have outgrown their current spaces after six years of operation. The transition to the new space, which is located near IU Health Arnett Hospital, is expected to be complete by January.

The company did not specify if any jobs would be created as a result of the new space. OWC specializes in metals recycling, the production and supply of custom steel and aluminum, environmentally safe electronic goods recycling, and industrial logistics solutions.
