Union Health, CareSource Detail Agreement
Union Health in Terre Haute has announced an agreement to join the health plan network of Ohio-based CareSource. The deal involves access by CareSource Medicaid and Obamacare Marketplace members to Union Hospital and Union Medical Group services. Patient access will begin January 1 after the CareSource credentialing process is complete.
CareSource Indiana Executive Director Steve Smitherman says "we are excited to expand our network with the addition of Union Health. This alliance allows CareSource to continue its mission of providing the highest quality of access to care for our members."
Both the hospital and medical group are also part of the CareSource Healthy Indiana Plan program. CareSource’s Indiana footprint is growing after the nonprofit health plan announced it would provide its services to residents of Decatur, Jackson, Grant and Wayne counties who were in jeopardy of not having access to the Marketplace after Anthem and MDWise announced they would drop out of individual participation after this year.
In October, CareSource opened a new call center on the northwest side of Indianapolis, a facility that is expected to eventually house 150 jobs.
