The World’s Most Respected Companies from FORTUNE are determined by nine factors that are voted on by executives from 680 companies in 28 countries. None of the businesses based in Indiana made FORTUNE‘s Top 50 "All-Star" list.
Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group Inc. (NYSE: SPG) remains number one among Real Estate companies. Columbus-based Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) has risen to second in Construction and Farm Machinery, compared to third in 2016. Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE: LLY) is ranked 8th within the Pharmaceutical category, up from 10th last year.
The Top 10 of the 50 "All-Star" companies this year are:
