Bill Rasmussen, a 1954 graduate of DePauw, will take part in the Timothy and Sharon Ubben Lecture Series.
The lecture will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Kresge Auditorium at the Green Center for the Performing Arts. The event is free and open to the public. The university says Rasmussen will discuss the creation of ESPN and its recent challenges, such as the network’s recent layoffs and a dwindling subscriber base.
It is part of a long week for Rasmussen, who is also spending his time meeting with students in DePauw’s Management Fellows and Media Fellows programs in addition to Rector Scholars. Rasmussen himself was a Rector Scholar during his time on the Greencastle campus.
Rasmussen will Saturday attend the 124th Monon Bell Classic between DePauw and Wabash College. Last month, DePauw announced the game will be televised on FOX Sports Midwest and FOX Sports Indiana.
Rasmussen will also be in studio this weekend on Inside INdiana Business Television.
