Sato, who is the first Japanese driver to win the 500, will unveil his likeness on the famed Borg-Warner trophy.
Sato earned the right for his face to appear in sterling silver on the trophy by beating Helio Castroneves by .2011 of a second, the sixth-closest finish in race history. He earned $2.46 million for winning the 101st running of "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing."
The unveiling will take place at 5:00 p.m. at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. The event takes place just two days after Sato’s compatriot Yoshihide Muroya won his first Red Bull Air Race World Championship.
