Financial details were not disclosed, however a spokesperson for the recreational vehicle manufacturer tells Inside INdiana Business the project is expected to create more than 500 jobs.
Jayco will construct a 230,000-square-foot manufacturing facility which will house two production lines. The company says the facility will be one of its largest in the country. Chief Operating Officer Matt Thompson says the company looked at several states when planning its western expansion.
"We concluded that capitalizing on the benefits offered in Twin Falls out-weighed benefits outside the state of Idaho," Thompson said in a news release.
Jayco says the facility is expected to be complete by the spring of 2018. The company currently employs 245 workers at the Idaho campus.
The announcement comes less than two months after Jayco revealed plans to expand its Middlebury operations with a new "mega-facility," which will create 300 jobs. In January, the company also announced expansion plans in Middlebury which would create an additional 300 jobs.
Last week, Jayco parent Thor Industries Inc. (NYSE: THO) said the inclusion of Jayco contributed to its jump in full-year net income.
