Joseph, who currently serves as a professor of New Testament and ancient languages at IWU’s School of Theology and Ministry, will begin his new role in January.
IWU says Joseph will lead the seminary’s curriculum assessment and faculty development as well as guiding an expansion of the seminary’s global education initiatives. He will also move from undergraduate education to graduate-level instruction.
"Dr. Joseph brings with him an expertise in curriculum development and assessment, knowledge of global education, and a commitment to the Lord’s work," said Colleen Derr, president of Wesley Seminary. "Dr. Joseph’s commitment to academic rigor and theological integrity make him well-suited for this vital role."
IWU says one of Joseph’s priorities with the global education expansion will center around the addition of French language courses.
Joseph is a native of Haiti and lives in Marion with his wife, Larisa Levicheva, who is an assistant professor of Bible and Christian Ministry at IWU. Joseph’s appointment comes six months after Derr was named president of Wesley Seminary.
