The complex was acquired by Greenwood-based Randy Faulkner & Associates, which renovated the property and gave it a new name to honor the Byrd family who operated there for nearly 30 years. Their first tenant, Brickhouse Coffee Co., moved to the space after outgrowing its original location.
Brickhouse owners Jared and Lora Stayton plan to open a drive-thru at the new location and are looking to find a partner to offer light lunch and dinner menus in addition to their coffee products.
Randy Faulkner & Associates says the next tenant, The Nest Event Center, will open on November 1 with its first event taking place two days later. The event center will be able to host large and small events and will host a grand opening ceremony after Thanksgiving.
The new owners have eight additional spaces in The Nest they are looking to fill.
