He has been with the organization for 15 years, most recently serving as director of information technology & facilities for the past nine years. In this newly-created role, Helm will help achieve organizational goals in two primary ways. He will oversee and ensure all information and communication systems are secure and reliable and will also take on responsibility for accurate, timely, and actionable data reporting to improve the performance of the organization.
Helm has 22 years of experience in the information technology industry. He earned his Master of Science degree from the Center for Information and Communication Sciences at Ball State University. Before joining YOC, he worked in the Automation Department of the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library system and later in IT management positions in the for-profit sector. Helm was also an instructor and chair of the Computer Information Systems Program at Ivy Tech’s ECI region, served as an Ivy Tech adjunct instructor and has conducted training courses at the Indiana Women’s Prison and for the Department of Workforce Development.
Helm is a member of the Association of Information Technology Professionals where he is a past president and current board member of the ECI Chapter. He currently serves as vice-chair of the board of Hillcroft Services.
