Our partners at The Herald Bulletin report the Italian manufacturer subsidiary will invest $5 million to add a third production line in 2018.
Sirmax North America held a dedication ceremony Friday for the facility. The manufacturer made an original investment of more than $25 million to build the facility in the Madison County city and add 50 workers by 2020. Currently 25 employees are working at the facility, according to the publication.
The facility currently operates two production lines. The third line is expected to bring production capacity to 80 million pounds of plastic components that will be used by the automotive, home appliance, electrical and furniture industries.
"Anderson proved to be the perfect location. It is in close proximity to our suppliers and customers," Plan Manager Lorenzo Ferro told The Herald Bulletin. "We’re ready to take the next challenge. Our plans are to double the size of the building."
Plans for the facility were first announced in January 2015.
