WorkOne Office Coming to Rush County
The Rush County Economic and Community Development Corp. is partnering with the Muncie-based Alliance for Strategic Growth Inc. to boost the region’s work force. The organizations are creating a new WorkOne office to connect job seekers in Rush County with high-demand, high-wage jobs.
ASG says the office will provide education, training, career and support services. John McCane, director of the ECDC, says while unemployment has fallen to well below 3 percent in Rush County, the need for qualified employees has risen.
The office will be located at 306 North Main Street in Rushville and Mayor Mike Pavey says it will be complimentary to other projects currently under construction in the area.
"Someone seeking employment can stop in the new Rushville Work One office and receive employability assessments, training, and employment placement in a one-stop location," said Pavey. "Combined with the new Ivy Tech classrooms two doors down, the City of Rushville has taken a major step forward in meeting employer needs by providing world-class skills training and educational opportunities for its citizens."
ASG Chief Executive Officer Mike Row says the office will add "unique value" to the city and region.
