The event will include Toyota executives, state and local representatives and hundreds of employees from the Bartholomew County campus.
Toyota says more than 800,000 forklifts have been sold in the U.S. since 1967, with more than 500,000 being sold since the Columbus campus opened in 1990. Toyota executives will talk about the history of Toyota forklifts in the U.S. at the celebration, which will also include a commemorative gold forklift.
In November, TMHU announced plans to add more than 70 jobs in Columbus through 2018. The company sits on the 126-acre Toyota campus along with sister company Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing, which announced in April a $17 million expansion.
Approximately 1,500 total Toyota workers are employed at the campus.
