Ancilla Launches Management Training Program
Ancilla College is partnering with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development and the Marshall County Economic Development Corp. to launch a program aimed at addressing employer needs. The Ancilla College Management and Leadership Training program is the result of interviews with employers on workforce development issues.
The interviews, which were conducted with approximately 25 percent of businesses in the community, showed that employers thought training for entry-level and mid-level supervision management positions would improve the existing workforce. Ancilla says the new program has a goal of "educating, equipping, and empowering leaders within their organizations."
Bremen Castings Inc. will be the first Marshall County business to take part in the program with 10 employees starting this month.
"I’m optimistic this training will help build a strong foundation from which their leaders can grow to ultimately help take BCI to the next level in its performance," said Jack Jordan, board member of Ancilla College and BCI. "In addition, I’m confident that this training will result in equipping and inspiring participants to become competent, performance improving managers and leaders."
There are two tiers to the program. The college says the first centers on getting first-time managers off to a successful start and the second aims to refine the skills of mid-level managers.
The program will be offered through the Ancilla College School of Business.
