Columbus Regional Health Names VP

Columbus Regional Health has promoted Denise Glesing to vice president of growth and strategic planning. She has been with the hospital since 1997, serving as community relations manager until 2008 when she was promoted to director of business planning and marketing. Glesing provides vision, direction and administration of business development, strategic planning and marketing and communications across all entities of the Columbus Regional Health system. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Radio and Television from Butler University and a Masters of Business Administration from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.

      An Illinois-based shipping and logistics company has announced plans to relocate to Gary. HMD Trucking Inc. says it will invest nearly $6 million into a new headquarters, with plans to bring up to 500 jobs to Lake County by 2021. Founder Henry Malukas calls Gary a "perfect match" and cites several reasons for the move, including affordability to grow.

    • Gen Con Breaks Attendance Record

      As expected, Gen Con LLC is reporting record attendance for last weekend's convention. The organization says turnstile attendance was nearly 208,000, marking an increase of about 4 percent over 2016. For the first time in its 50-year history, the convention sold out of all attendee badges before the event began.

    • Elements Financial Appoints CFO

      Elements Financial has named Jeff Joyce chief financial officer. He is the founder of Cross Financial Services in 2012 and led the firm’s financial institution practice. Joyce also previously served as CFO at Heartland Community Bank for 15 years and was part of the executive management team that formed the state-chartered commercial bank and bank holding company in 1997 and grew the institution to hold the largest deposit market share in Johnson County.
