Purdue Topples Fundraising Records

For fiscal 2016, the school says it took in nearly $352 million. The university is in the midst of its $2 billion "Ever True" fundraising campaign, which will wrap up on the university’s 150th anniversary in June 2019.
The funds came from from 85,465 donors. Donation totals increased six percent from last year and topped the previous record of $343.4 million set in 2015. Last year marked the previous high for individual donors at 82,598.
President Mitch Daniels says "thanks to our generous donors, Purdue continues to strengthen its reputation in teaching and research while remaining affordable and accessible to brilliant young minds. We’re forever grateful to all who helped, and especially to those thousands of donors who participated for the first time." Purdue says more than 16,000 first-time donors gave to Purdue during the last year.
The Ever True campaign is the largest in school history and it has attracted support from nearly 172,000 donors to date.
