Stephen Ligda, who was also a former president of the Saint Joseph’s College Alumni Association, passed away last week from complications related to ALS. He was 76.
A Saint Joe’s graduate, Ligda received the college’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2009. In a post on Facebook, the college called Ligda "one of our most prominent Pumas."
"Stephen’s dedication and passion for Saint Joseph’s will be sorely missed," the college said.
Ligda was laid to rest Thursday in Illinois. His family has asked for contributions to the Les Turner ALS Foundation of The Phoenix Project of Saint Joseph’s College in lieu of flowers.
