BKD Promotes Gernand to Managing Director

BKD has promoted John Gernand to managing director of its Bloomington office. Gernand is a member of BKD National Manufacturing & Distribution Group and has more than 15 years of auditing, accounting and consulting experience in the manufacturing, distribution and service industries. 

He is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Indiana CPA Society.

Gernand is a 2000 cum laude graduate of Ball State University with a B.A. degree in accounting. He received his MPA degree from the Kelley School of Business.

    • Manufacturer Adding Production in Daviess County

      Florida-based ISOFlex Packaging will Tuesday celebrate the opening of a third production line at its facility in Daviess County. The company, which produces specialty plastic films and bags, will add a small number of jobs as a result. The company has invested more than $4 million into the new production line. The facility originally opened in 2014 following a $25 million investment by Alliance Barrier Films, which was acquired by ISOFlex in January.

      Inside INdiana Business has learned that India-based tech giant Infosys (NYSE: INFY) will house a USA Training Center at the old Indianapolis International Airport site. The plans involve 1,000 new jobs, on top of the company's previous commitment of 2,000 jobs as part of its downtown technology and innovation hub. Vice President Mike Pence will join Governor Eric Holcomb and others for the official announcement Thursday in Indianapolis.

      Reverse Transfer Deals in Place Among Ivy Tech, Five Universities

      Five universities in Indiana have signed reverse transfer agreements with Ivy Tech Community College. President Sue Ellspermann says the announcement moves forward Ivy Tech's goal of issuing 50,000 certificates, certifications and degrees per year.       Greenfield-based Elanco Animal Health has named Christopher Jensen senior vice president and chief financial officer. He most recently served as CFO for Celanese Corp. Jensen's previous experience includes financial planning and analysis, treasury, tax, accounting, financial shared services, audit and IT.
