A Georgia-based company has acquired a Richmond facility that has been vacant for nearly 10 years and plans to set up a specialty chemical distribution operation. The Economic Development Corp. of Wayne County says Lintech International LLC is planning to invest $500,000 into renovations and improvements at the 120,000 square-foot building.

The company plans to add a small number of employees at first and a total of 10, eventually. Lintech, which offers temperature-controlled and flammable storage options, says it will staff the facility with local workers. Chief Executive Officer Julie Van Brunt says "we are very excited about our new facility in Richmond, IN as its location is well suited to serve our strategic markets in the Mid-West which will enable Lintech to provide outstanding distribution and storage services. After visiting Richmond and the surrounding area, we immediately felt at home. We believe our company culture will integrate well with the community and its people. The assistance we received from the Economic Development Corporation of Wayne County and the City of Richmond Administration was instrumental in helping Lintech to purchase this property. We are completing all the upgrades with local contractors and have been impressed with their professionalism, responsiveness and competitiveness. We are committed to growing our presence in the region and this facility will be a key centerpiece for our activities and operations."

The renovated operation is set to open September 1. Privately-owned Lintech was launched in the early-1980s and its clients are in the paint & coatings, adhesive, rubber, plastic, agriculture and composite industries.
