InnovateHER Honors Region Winner
A product designed to help maintain and store small engines took the top prize in the Northwest Indiana Small Business Development Center’s InnovateHER competition. Kim Macchiarella will receive prizes including coworking space and will be considered for a spot in the national competition. Her company, Kim’s Oil, and her product, One Shot Mc Shot, were selected from a field of 10 women to move ahead in the contest. The product seals small engines after spark plug removal and aids with the insertion of lubricant into the engine cylinder.
The event was the first regional competition in northwest Indiana and was organized in part by the Business Women United Network. Kim’s Oil now moves to the next round of review. Ultimately, the Small Business Administration will choose 10 finalists to participate in the InnovateHER Final Challenge later this year in the Washington D.C. area.
