The Franciscan Health Stones Crossing facility will include an emergency center and outpatient medical complex that the health system says will provide many of the same services offered at its Indianapolis and Mooresville locations.
The three-story, 108,000 square-foot micro-hospital will include eight inpatient rooms, while the emergency center will have several exam rooms, full imaging services and lab support. Franciscan says the smaller hospital model will provide shorter wait times and the ability to stabilize patients if more acute emergency care or hospital admission is needed.
"Franciscan Health is committed to providing high-quality healthcare with convenient access to those we serve," said James Callaghan, chief executive officer of Franciscan Health. "Our micro-hospital is a model of value-based care and focuses on providing the right kind of care at the right time – and at the right location for patients."
The complex will also include a variety of outpatient and specialty services, including diagnostic imaging, rehabilitation services, a pediatrics clinic, OB/GYN services, mammography, vein center, and family medicine offices, among others.
The Stones Crossing facility will be located in Greenwood, about 12 miles away from the Indianapolis and Mooresville hospitals. Construction is slated to begin later this month and is expected to be complete in the fall of 2018.
