Berry Added to Fortune 500

The company is the seventh based in Indiana to be ranked among the largest companies in the United States by Fortune magazine.
The companies on the list are ranked by total revenues for their respective fiscal years, according to Fortune. Berry is ranked at number 413, the lowest of all Indiana companies, with fiscal year 2016 revenues totaling $6.5 billion. Chief Executive Officer Tom Salmon calls the ranking a milestone in the company’s history.
"We have evolved from one manufacturing location in Evansville, Indiana, to 131 facilities across the globe with more than 23,000 employees," said Salmon. "Additionally, Berry has made tremendous progress since becoming a public company in October 2012 as we’ve delivered strong financial performance and our share price has more than tripled, out-performing our peers as well as the S&P 500. Our sound business model and market leadership positions allow us to continue to protect what’s important to our customers, shareholders, and employees."
The other Indiana-based companies included on the list are Indianapolis-based Anthem Inc. (NYSE: ANTM) at 29 and Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE: LLY) at 132, Columbus-based Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) at 159, Fort Wayne-based Steel Dynamics (Nasdaq: STLD) at 347, Warsaw-based Zimmer Biomet Holdings Inc. (NYSE: ZBH) at 352 and Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group Inc. (NYSE: SPG) at 477.
