The county, which is at record-low unemployment, says companies are looking to fill an estimated 20,000 to 25,000 open positions.
Elkhart County Economic Development Corp. President Mark Dobson is encouraging workers throughout the state who may have been displaced from previous employers to consider relocating to Elkhart. The DWD says the majority of the jobs are coming from employers such as Thor Industries Inc. (NYSE: THO), Lippert Components Inc., and Forest River RV Corp.
The DWD says many of the jobs are entry-level and offer on-the-job training. They include engineers, welders, plumbers, technicians, electrical hook-ups and installers, builders, parts and shipping specialists, customer service representatives, and supervisors and managers.
