Soards, who currently serves as president of AT&T Indiana, was appointed to the position during the nonprofit’s annual convention in French Lick.
IBTA President John Koppin says Soards is the perfect choice for the position.
“Since he returned to his home state four years ago, there has been no greater advocate for the growth of Indiana’s technology sector than Bill," said Koppin. "AT&T has been an integral member of the IBTA since its inception nearly 100 years ago, and we’re excited that Bill will continue to shape where we are headed in the future."
Soards was named president of AT&T Indiana in 2013. He previously served as president of AT&T Colorado and also assistant vice president of public affairs for the company’s Midwest region.
