Foellinger Foundation Awards More Grants
The Fort Wayne-based Foellinger Foundation is adding to the amount of grants awarded to nonprofits throughout Allen County. The organization’s board of directors has approved nearly $1.2 million in grant funding for three recipients focused on providing services to children and families.
The foundation has earmarked the funding for operating support, project support and capital improvement and replacement support for each recipient. The organizations receiving the funding include:
Fort Wayne Rescue Mission – $540,000
- Three-year operating support – $450,000
- One-year project support for organizational effectiveness work – $15,000
- One-year limited capital improvement and replacement support – $75,000
Youth for Christ of Northern Indiana – $245,565
- Two-year program support – $180,000
- One-year project support for organizational effectiveness work – $13,500
- One-year limited capital improvement and replacement support – $52,065
Headwaters Counseling – $412,475
- Three-year operating support – $330,000
- One-year project support for organizational effectiveness work – $15,000
- One-year limited capital improvement and replacement support – $67,475
"The Foundation’s strategy focuses on supporting effective and adaptive nonprofit board and staff leaders," said Cheryl Taylor, president of the Foellinger Foundation. "These organizations each receive a portfolio of grants to support their work with those children and families who are most in need."
Last week, the Foellinger Foundation board approved more than $800,000 in community interest grants. Earlier last month, the organization awarded $500,000 to allow Allen County-based Great KIDS Make Great COMMUNITIES create a Youth and Family Development Academy.
