Stage Set For ‘Significant’ Tech Announcement
The office of Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett says a "significant economic development announcement" will be made Tuesday morning. Hogsett will be joined by Governor Eric Holcomb and a global tech company to provide details at the news conference at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Officials have not publicly stated which company is involved in advance of the announcement.
Hogsett and Holcomb have appeared together at multiple tech-related news conferences in the nearly six months their terms in office have overlapped. In February, Arizona-based Levementum detailed additional growth plans — 175 jobs over four years — in the city. On Saturday, the pair joined executives from Salesforce (NYSE: CRM) to ceremonially unveil the revamped former Chase Tower, which is the state’s tallest building and is now called Salesforce Tower. The 48-story structure will house a regional headquarters for Salesforce. In addition to the previously-detailed 800 jobs in the coming years the company has already pledged for Indy, Chief Executive Officer Marc Benioff discussed a new program that will involve 500 apprentice positions.
