Subscribe NowIUPUI has appointed Andrea Simpson assistant vice chancellor and executive director for alumni engagement. She has served with the Indiana University Alumni Association as director of alumni programs for the IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law, IU School of Nursing and IU School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences on the IUPUI campus and the IU School of Nursing on the Bloomington campus since March 2016. As assistant vice chancellor and executive director for alumni engagement, Simpson is the chief alumni relations officer for IUPUI.
Simpson has more than 20 years of experience in leadership roles in institutional advancement, supervising diverse teams and volunteers. She also has a strong background in events and fundraising for annual campaigns. Before coming to IU, Simpson was executive director of alumni relations for City Colleges of Chicago, where she designed and implemented alumni programs for seven colleges and saw registered membership grow from 28 to nearly 5,000 in two years. Prior to that, she worked for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she was responsible for the management and leadership of an alumni association with more than 140,000 members.
Simpson attended IUPUI and Purdue University as an undergraduate, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in speech pathology and audiology from Purdue. She also earned a Master of Arts in philanthropy and development from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
