Noblesville to Open New City Park
The city of Noblesville will Saturday celebrate the grand opening of its fifth city park. Officials broke ground in September on Federal Hill Commons, which features an amphitheater, indoor event facility, and market plaza, among other amenities.
The 6.5-acre park is named after the Federal Hill District in which it is located. The city says it incorporated the history of Noblesville into the park’s design and features.
"We’ve been waiting patiently for this grand opening event and we are excited to host this celebration for Federal Hill Commons and the Noblesville community," said Parks Director Brandon Bennett. "The transformation this area has had in the past year and a half has been amazing. Federal Hill Commons was designed with historical features, interactive green space and state-of-the-art equipment. Its mix is similar to Noblesville’s demographic – lifelong residents and newer families."
The city says, in addition to serving as a gathering space for events and music, Federal Hill Commons will also be an economic development catalyst "extending downtown Noblesville across the White river."
The grand opening celebration will run from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Saturday and will feature live music and a fireworks display.
