Indiana University will award the most degrees in the school's history across its seven campuses. IU President Michael McRobbie will preside over several graduate and undergraduate commencement ceremonies next month, in which more than 20,000 degrees will be presented.

The recipients of the 20,531 degrees represent all 92 counties in Indiana, all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia and 133 countries. IU says just over 70 percent are Indiana residents, 56 percent are women and nearly 26 percent are first-generation college students.

The commencement ceremonies will be held between May 5 and May 14. The breakdown of degrees at each ceremony includes:

  • IU Bloomington Graduate Commencement - May 5 - 2,498 graduate degrees
  • IU Bloomington Undergraduate Commencement - May 6 - 6,913 undergraduate degrees
  • IU Southeast - May 8 - 1,019 degrees
  • IU Kokomo - May 9 - 643 degrees
  • IU South Bend - May 9 - 1,020 degrees

  • IU East - May 12 - 876 degrees
