JCC Indianapolis has appointed Eric Koehler (pictured) chief executive officer effective June 19. He replaces Ira Jaffee, who retires in June after more than 30 years in the position. Koehler cites the Jewish value of tikkun olam, repairing the world, as one of the important ones to the mission of the JCC. Koehler is transitioning from The JCC in Stamford, Connecticut where he served as CEO for five years. While there he raised more than $7 million in two capital campaigns. Previously, he was executive director of the JCC in Northern Virginia for almost five years, where he grew the operating budget from $3.5 to $5.6 million. He has been involved in various roles at JCCs on the east coast and in the southern United States since 1996. Originally from Massachusetts, Koehler graduated from Boston University with a B.A. degree in Psychology. He earned an M.S. degree in Counseling from Salem State College, concentrating in Industrial Organizational Behavior.
